Please use this form to apply for:
- Diversity Scholarships
- Indigenous Scholarships
- Park County Scholarship
What do we mean by a "diverse writer”? Diversity includes a range of experiences from things like gender, sexual orientation, and race, to religion, abilities, and economic background — anything that lends a different lens through which a writer might view (and therefore respond to) the world.
The Indigenous Scholarships to the 2025 Elk River Writers Workshop are open to Native writers. This scholarship will cover $1,700 in tuition and fees, as well as lodging at Chico Hot Springs. Recipients will be responsible for their own travel arrangements.
The Park County Scholarship is open to writers whose primary residence is in Park County, Montana. It will cover $1,700 in tuition and fees. Recipients will be responsible for their own lodging arrangements.
You must submit a workshop application in order to apply for a scholarship!
We accept workshop applicants on a rolling basis.
We encourage all scholarship candidates to apply as early as practicable. All scholarship money will be allocated by May 1, and no scholarship applications will be taken after the April 1 deadline.
